Church for Imperfect People

Let Me Check that Again

Do you ever lose track of time scrolling through your news feed on Facebook? You get on to waste five minutes after a long day and an hour later you come out of the haze.

Naturally that means it’s time to switch to Instagram. Posts have gone up since lunchtime, so you need to check out the feed.

How do you feel after spending this time on social media?

I asked a few people to fess up to how they feel after spending extended time on social media. They often feel:

* frustrated
* judged
* depressed

Those are pretty strong words. Comparison is the killer of joy. Comparison steals who God says we are and replaces it with lies.

What does God say about you?

* He has good plans uniquely for you.
* He thinks about you constantly.
* He loves you unconditionally.

There’s no need for comparison to others when we are confident in our identity in Christ.

One way to learn more about who you are in Christ is by committing to spend time in His word. Download the Bible App on your phone and start your day off with a YouVersion reading plan. Begin learning the truth about God and your identity in Him today!

"I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” — Romans 8:38-39 MSG"
